Scott Welsh
Mr. Scott Welch is the Landfill Operations Manager at Southeast OKC Landfill and has been with Republic Services for over 9 years and held various rolls in post collection operations. Mr. Welch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. After college, Mr. Welch began his career with Republic Services in the fall of 2015 as a landfill laborer at the Foothills Landfill in Golden, Colorado. From there Mr. Welch lead the safety programs for both Foothills Landfill and Tower Landfill in the Denver market while learning the fundamentals of modern landfill operations and maintenance.
In early 2017, Mr. Welch was promoted to Operations Supervisor at Foothills Landfill and held the role until January 2020 where he then transferred to Stillwater Landfill in Stillwater, Oklahoma as the Operations Supervisor. After 2 years at Stillwater Landfill, Mr. Welch accepted the position of Operations Manager in March 2022 for Southeast OKC Landfill in Oklahoma City. His top priorities for landfill operations include safety, team building and talent growth, the heavy equipment maintenance program, density, maintaining consistent and quick turn times in all weather conditions, planning and executing waste lifts, borrow areas, access roads and storm water berms with controls to manage runoff events.
Outside of work Mr. Welch enjoys spending time with his spouse and family in the outdoors hiking, fishing, and boating at their cabin on Lake Texoma.
